Ellen

One of the most exciting days recently was when I applied for the DJ position Ellen Degeneres was trying to fill. I put a blurb on her website where you were to apply and told her I wanted to be her personal music slave. I also told her I would happily send my Survivor audition tape to her because once she saw it she would want me on the show. However, her people did not call my people and they filled the position anyway. I did ask to substitute if the regular DJ goes on vacation. Wouldn't that have been awesome?

I was so ready to move to LA and be with the pretty people - if you aren't pretty you should be around them I figure. I was kind of thinking the Ellen and Andi show had a nice ring to it, but actually the Andi and Ellen show sounds better. What do you think.

Back to reality. I did buy some lottery tickets tonight for the Mega Million game. Maybe I'll be able to leave work at lunch tomorrow, for good. If I win I'm gonna rent a cruise ship and invite all my family and friends. You could come too. I don't mind.

What's Up?

Well let's see. It's been a really long time since I've been on the computer at home much less blogging. Don't know where the time has gone. I just got back from San Francisco yesterday. I was there on business. It was awesome. Would have liked to have stayed a little longer and enjoyed the weather and the EXCELLENT FOOD!

I got a roommate since I last blogged. It's going well. It's only been a couple of weeks and I think it's going to be a good thing. A friend of a friend had a friend who wanted to move closer to family. She wanted to move to Atlanta because she already had friends here so she quit her job of 18 years and moved in sight unseen. She's feverishly looking for a job. Two weeks seems like forever when you are not working and want to be.

My 13ish year old dog started having seizures. That's consumed a lot of my time trying to get her well and keep her happy. I could rule out a brain tumor for $800 but I figure we'll try the medication and see if we can contain the seizures. I had just started her on a thyroid medication. I realized she had been falling but it took awhile to figure the seizures were causing them. They put her on phenolbarbitol (sure it's spelled wrong but it sounds correct) which made her act like she was really drunk for 2 weeks. She still continues to just fall flat to the ground. I have a good bit of non carpeted flooring in the house and she struggles where there isn't carpet. I finally went to the competitor and bought some 2 X 2 ft squares that interlock and have the perimeter of the den taken care of with the squares. She's smart enough to know she should walk on them and they are working our really well. I just want to make her comfortable.

My HP laptop died on me. Just a few weeks shy of a year so it was under warranty. They had to replace the hard drive. It's been really great getting everything back up and running. However, I lost lots of my favorites and now I can't play some of the free games I used to love to play. Not sure what the problem is. Maybe someone can help me on this one. When I go to play Bounceout, I can't see the screen to play on. There's a large box with the X on it but I cannot play. I think it's a setting or maybe even a file that was loaded when I got the computer back. It's driving me crazy.

Well, I should be around a little more with Harley (my dog) doing better and my computer working again. I'm trying to get back to my normal routine - whatever that is. I am looking forward to the new Fall lineup on TV though. I've been enjoying the On Demand stuff from Showtime (L Word, Weeds and Dexter). Love them.

It's bood to be back.
