What's Up?

Well let's see. It's been a really long time since I've been on the computer at home much less blogging. Don't know where the time has gone. I just got back from San Francisco yesterday. I was there on business. It was awesome. Would have liked to have stayed a little longer and enjoyed the weather and the EXCELLENT FOOD!

I got a roommate since I last blogged. It's going well. It's only been a couple of weeks and I think it's going to be a good thing. A friend of a friend had a friend who wanted to move closer to family. She wanted to move to Atlanta because she already had friends here so she quit her job of 18 years and moved in sight unseen. She's feverishly looking for a job. Two weeks seems like forever when you are not working and want to be.

My 13ish year old dog started having seizures. That's consumed a lot of my time trying to get her well and keep her happy. I could rule out a brain tumor for $800 but I figure we'll try the medication and see if we can contain the seizures. I had just started her on a thyroid medication. I realized she had been falling but it took awhile to figure the seizures were causing them. They put her on phenolbarbitol (sure it's spelled wrong but it sounds correct) which made her act like she was really drunk for 2 weeks. She still continues to just fall flat to the ground. I have a good bit of non carpeted flooring in the house and she struggles where there isn't carpet. I finally went to the competitor and bought some 2 X 2 ft squares that interlock and have the perimeter of the den taken care of with the squares. She's smart enough to know she should walk on them and they are working our really well. I just want to make her comfortable.

My HP laptop died on me. Just a few weeks shy of a year so it was under warranty. They had to replace the hard drive. It's been really great getting everything back up and running. However, I lost lots of my favorites and now I can't play some of the free games I used to love to play. Not sure what the problem is. Maybe someone can help me on this one. When I go to play Bounceout, I can't see the screen to play on. There's a large box with the X on it but I cannot play. I think it's a setting or maybe even a file that was loaded when I got the computer back. It's driving me crazy.

Well, I should be around a little more with Harley (my dog) doing better and my computer working again. I'm trying to get back to my normal routine - whatever that is. I am looking forward to the new Fall lineup on TV though. I've been enjoying the On Demand stuff from Showtime (L Word, Weeds and Dexter). Love them.

It's bood to be back.

I'm sorry about your doggie. I was told that phenobarbatol (?) was not good for dogs, though. I used to take it for seizures when I was a little kid. I don't take anything, now :)
It's good to see you back on line. I was going to ask Marnie if you were still in the land of living.

Biddie-the vet said the phenol...can do was it kidney or liver damange, but I figure at 13, it's one thing or another. I'm just watching. The vet said if her character changes a lot, she could have a tumor. I'm watching her very closely but then that's not too hard right now - she sticks to me like glue when I am home.

Marni-I'll definitely give her a hug and a kiss, maybe two from you.
