It's Over Isn't It?

OK. Call me Scrooge or whatever, but you know I thought Christmas was supposed to be fun. Nope, not for awhile. Considering my mother has not enjoyed Christmas for years (I'm sure that has had something to do with it), then let's see...my sister, her husband, and my nephews moved to New Jersey (Christmas with kids is the best), and there's just three of us now (Mom, my brother and me). Well when one of the three stays in a funk around the holidays it's kind of hard to stay upbeat. Why can't I win the lottery so I can quit my job and do whatever I want (travel...get the Hell out of here - you know that kind of thing). Maybe one of these days. I've always thought it would be fun to take a cruise or some kind of vacation for the holidays. I think my Mom might enjoy having something to look forward to. Maybe one of these days I can actually have Christmas at my house with my partner - I guess there's still time.

I was so fed up with it, when I got home from Mom's last night, I came in the door tearing off the Christmas decorations before I closed the front door. Then I moved to the Christmas tree. I had not had a great weekend and Christmas was right up there this year as one of the worst so I decided I didn't want anything in the house that reminded me of Christmas. I took everything off the tree and packed it away (including the lights), and then I finally hoisted the tree out of the stand, hauled it through the den and threw it in the backyard. I guess the only thing better would have been to burn it but I still had stuff to get rid of. Then I put the nativity scene away. The only thing left is the poinsetta's. I think I'll just stop watering them. Then they will die.

Well, hope everyone else had a good time. Maybe one of these Christmases will be fun. Have a safe New Year's. I'll be spinning tunes Saturday night and then heading to a friend's for New Year's. At least there's something to look forward to.
